BBC NEWS | Technology | User paid to uninstall Windows XP
A Sheffield man has won a refund from Dell for not installing Microsoft’s Windows XP on a laptop he bought from the PC giant.
I’ve occasionally clicked on No in License agreements just to see what happens (the answer unsurprisingly is not a lot) but I’ve never really entertained the idea of getting money for it. This is a chance for consumerism to work in the consumers favour; if enough people do this there might be the possibility that computers will be offered without Windows.
