Simple read GTD on the web.

43folders.com is a good place to start.

I regularly worked with over 300 emails a day, sometimes peaking at 1000! Most of my colleagues has in boxes that overflowed.

Using GTD I have only a few folders, a handful of categories and an empty in box every evening.

One simple rule came up in work life. End of Day, an e-mails in my in box? No - In Control. Yes - Loosing Control.

It sounds impossible, but I found it took only a week to get things under control. The best thing about GTD is that it doesn't rule your life, you adapt it to meet your needs.

Well worth the time it takes to make it work.

Comment on Why Vista will mean the end of the Microsoft monolith by Steve

" A lesser company would have buckled under the strain" ......
"apparently outperform the smartest software company"

When will the main stream press actually represent the software market in correct terms. Microsoft buckled to produce windows 95, 98, me, 2000, XP..... It has long since lost being the smartest company in the software industry, if it ever had that crown.

All this goes to show is that Microsoft is still a dinosaur, and needs to evolve its operating system division. Not only does the open source linux community prove that other models can produce viable operating systems, but Apple confirms that a corporate entity can also do it.

It just goes to show that good design is more important than any amount of money that can be thrown at a problem. Maybe windows should die, and just become a front-end GUI to a solid unix base....

Comment on What is Ichthux? by Raphink

Thanks for this nice post.

Well the reason to call Ichthux an OS, or distro, is so people don't get confused. Ichthux is a distro the same way Kubuntu or Edubuntu are distros: it is totally (or will be with Ichthux 6.10) embedded in Ubuntu, and only uses different settings at install to customize the desktop.

Since we have Ubuntu and Debian developers in our midst, we can work directly in Ubuntu and Debian to provide the packages we need (apps, Sword modules, customization metapackages) so we can work from within Ubuntu.

It is still easier to call it a distro for many people because we release an iso image and many people really don't want to know whether it's Ubuntu or Kubuntu or whatever since they see it says Ichthux when they boot...

God bless
